Naya Pakistan Manzilain Aasan (RAP)

Government of the Punjab has taken up initiative to launch a programme envisaged to rehabilitate extremely neglected / deteriorated rural roads. Accordingly, flagship project titled Naya Pakistan Manzilain Aasan (Rural Accessibility Programme) is set to be completed in two phases detailed as under:

Punjab Arterial Roads Improvement Programme (PARIP)

Keeping in line with the Spatial Strategy of Punjab, upgradation of major arterial roads is a dire need to provide better connectivity of agricultural, livestock, tourism and industrial zones of Punjab with Motorways & CPEC. After due consideration, this programme was conceived to seek assistance from Asian Development Bank (ADB) in shape of soft loan along with the provision to payback loan through toll collection. Following roads got selected under this programme for dualization in Phase I with total length of 535 km:

  • Corridor 1: Chichawatni - Rajana / Pir Mahal - Chowk Azam - Layyah (207 Km) 
  • Corridor 2: M-4 Chiragabad Interchange - Jhang - Shorkot (103 Km) 
  • Corridor 3: Depalpur - Pakpattan Shareef - Vehari Road (Length 150 Km) 
  • Corridor 4: Hasilpur - Bahawalnagar Road (Length 75 Km) 

The Land Acquisition & Resettlement Plan (LARP) is being finalized in light of ADB guidelines. After fulfillment of all formalities, loan agreement is likely to be signed during this calendar year 2022. Subsequently, construction activity will be started on ground.
